Fathi Muhadub - My balcony is narrow, your voice is vast.. Translation from Arabic Dr. Yousef Hanna / Palestine

In your voice a rhythm of frightened dove
Sigh of white butterfly
Revelation of prophet in a highly inspiring forest
Daytime swing noise
The hum of a priest flying in the air.

***

Your hand is a bridge full of gold
I am a shunned blind bird
In my mouth the taste of miracles
Your shadow is my home and wheat of your hands is blessings
Every Jesus rests on the rock of your shoulders
And in the maps of your veins my salvation.

***

I descend from myself to ascend to you
My balcony is narrow and your voice is vat
My silence, ruined stairs
My way to your soul is bumpy
My waters are shallow and your soul blue springs
There is sheep in the valley of my imagination
My craving is rice falling from my head
My hand is dark, your hand is my support stick, and my day light
My silence is raucous cricket
My condolences through hunting of obsessions
And luring the bug of thinking

***

I wash my love gazelle with forgetful water
Out in the open, I grant your star my name
Your mail has not arrived
Goats of my sadness flounder in my chest
My branches are broken and my tears are deer
Turned off
My banks are inhabited by the sea old-man's howling
And the fruits of eternal rain.

***

I’m cloudy and my proofs are fragile

Your sun does not shine except in the dark

My eyes are engraved by smallpox

My shirt is stained with the barking of your fingers

Lift me out from the bottom of the erasure
And let there be glory and light.

***

The place is what the horse's hooves leave behind,
From the dust of utopia
And in my blood the angels are infighting
Be my end and grant me
Eternal scepter.
Be my patron saint in the straits of semiotics.
Be rain and grant me a ring of secrets
Keys of resurrection
Bluish intensity
And the glory of passage.
