Sweet spirit
Before dawn, in the room whose walls were decorated with coronation pictures over many successive years, the elderly father advised his son who had been worried all night with eyes tired of staying up late wearing a red sporting t-shirt. He sat in bed with his head lowered between his legs, angry and sad after losing one of the titles his favorite team competes for. He addressed him in a loud, passionate voice:
“Haitham, my beloved son, everybody remembers only the champion flapping in space alone in the lead, with merit. Even if you achieve forty-two championships, your lover, regardless of his age, color, and language, will not be satisfied with seeing you superior, even if you become a five-time continental champion and globally in one year, and then you fail, even in a friendly match, your lover will feel sorry!
Raise your head high in pride; you are a champion who precedes with his honorable titles his closest pursuers by decades, but you are playing to accept the moment of failure, and use it as an incentive renewing the desire within you. You must shake hands with your opponent in submission just as he suffers, while you rejoice in the moment of victory.

حلاوة الروح
قبيل الفجر ، في الغرفة التي تتزين حوائطها بصور تتويجه ، على مدار سنوات طويلة متعاقبة ، أوصى الأب المسنُّ ولده ، الذي ظل مهمومًا طول الليل ، بأعين يؤرقها السهر ، يرتدي القميص الأحمر ، جلس على سريره منكِّسًا رأسه بين ساقيه ، وقد غضب آسفًا بعد ضياع أحد الألقاب التي ينافس عليها ، وخاطبه بصوت مرتفع تغمره الحَميَّة :
" هيثم ، ولدي الحبيب ، لا أحد يتذكر سوى البطل ، وهو يحلق في الفضاء منفردًا بالصدارة ، في استحقاق وجدارة ، حتى وإن حققتَ اثنتين وأربعين بطولة ، لن يشبع محبك على اختلاف عمره ، ولونه ، ولسانه من رؤيتك متفوقًا ، وإن صرتَ بطلًا خمس مراتٍ قاريًّا وعالميًّا في عام واحد، ثم أخفقتَ ، ولو في مسابقة وديَّة، سوف يشعر محبك بالأسف ! ارفع رأسك عاليًا في شموخ ؛ أنت بطل يسبق ، بألقابه المشرِّفة ، أقرب ملاحقيه بعقود ، غير أنك تلعب لتقبل لحظة الانكسار ، وتتخذ منها حافزًا ، يجدد الرغبة بداخلك ، تصافح خصمك ، في تسليم ، مثلما ، يعاني هو ، بينما تبتهج أنت لحظة الانتصار".
