Mahmoud Saeed new novel ' Lizards's Colony'
Shortlisted for Pushcart 2012


Dear Mr. Saeed,
Greetings from World Literature Today (Magazine). On behalf of Michelle Johnson and all my colleagues here at WLT, I'm writing to let you know that your story "Lizards' Colony," forthcoming in our November issue, has been chosen (in a unanimous vote) for our 2012 Pushcart shortlist. We'll submit your story to the Pushcart judges by the December 1, and will of course let you know should it be chosen for inclusion in Pushcart XXXVIII. As I told my colleagues when I first read your story, it's the most powerful piece I've encountered since Coetzee's Waiting for the Barbarians.
We'll announce the shortlist in our November issue and on our website by the end of this month.
